All you need to know about ABAX Smart Connect:

  • OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) telematics refers to technology that is built directly into the asset by the manufacturer during production. The embedded hardware uses GPS and various sensors to gather information on location, performance and diagnostics and sends this to a cloud-based platform, which provides insights to the end customer.

  • For equipment, the reporting frequency depends on the manufacturer - this can range from hourly to daily.

    For tools, the reporting frequency depends on the ABAX Global Network - but with good coverage, it can be effectively real-time.

  • Yes - You can connect any equipment and tool from any OEM, either by ABAX Smart Connect (if available) or ABAX hardware. Most of our customers have a combination that best suits their needs.

  • Equipment uses an API integration, and tools use Bluetooth. The setup for both is simple and details by manufacturer are found here.

  • Check out our integrations directory, which includes all supported brands. A good rule of thumb is that equipment post-2015 and over 10 tonnes has a factory-fitted device, and all tools that are Bluetooth-enabled.

  • Yes - And if you have equipment and tools from a manufacturer that is not listed, we are happy to discuss adding it.
