The 2G network shutdown: What this means for your ABAX tracking device
Throughout Europe, Telecom operators have started to phase out the 2G network and replace it with the faster, more reliable 4G and 5G networks.
At ABAX, we’ve been proactively working towards this transition. We’ve closely monitored developments from telecom providers and, since 2020, the majority of our devices have been 4G and 5G ready. However, a small number of customers still use older devices that rely on the 2G network. This usually occurred when replacements were not needed or when customers joined ABAX through an acquisition of another company.
We have steadily been replacing older devices free of charge and will continue to reach out to affected customers well in advance of the 2G shutdown. Our goal is to make any transition as low impact as possible while ensuring you have an uninterrupted service.
If you’ve got any questions about the network shutdown, please reach out to your ABAX Account Manager who will be able to help.
