Geofence notifications overview

Notifications alert a designated person if something is not as it should be or if a threshold has been exceeded on preset criteria. The system will show how many unhandled notifications you have with a red number over the notification menu icon. But as many notifications are time-critical, you can set up alerts via SMS and/or email. 

For geofence, you can be notified by email and/or SMS if an asset enters or exits a specific area. Each asset can be linked to more than one notification and area and you can have several notifications set up on the same geofence area. 

  • Geofence areas are managed through the ‘Map’, open the ‘Map’ menu: https://abax.cloud/central/map/  
  • Your existing geofences are listed in the left-hand banner under the “Geofences” tab.

    will show if notifications are enabled for the geofence and the icon

    will show if automatic purposes or address override is enabled.

  • You can use the free text field to search for a specific geofence, narrow with a filter or scroll through the list.  
  • Clicking on any geofence will show the area on the map.  
  • Click the ‘Edit’ button by ‘Notifications’ and click ‘add notification’ to create a new one or click a current notification from the list to edit/delete. 
  • Select from the assets list which assets you would like to create a notification for, select enter, exit or both and enter the contact details of the recipients.  
  • Click ‘save’. 
  • Now any time an asset meets the trigger criteria, you will be sent a notification.
