  • Self-install devices can typically be fitted in just a few minutes. Professionally installed hardwired units usually take between 45 and 90 minutes.

  • Self-install devices can be fitted virtually anywhere. For hardwired installations, appointments can be arranged across the UK during weekdays or weekends to suit your schedule. Installations must be carried out safely and in accordance with vehicle manufacturer guidelines.

  • An OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) tracker plugs into the vehicle’s diagnostic port - the same port used by mechanics. It collects telematics data without needing to be hardwired, making installation quick and easy.

  • Yes - all tracking data is stored securely and protected by individual login credentials. Multiple user accounts can be created with custom access permissions. The system is designed to meet the security standards required by the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, ensuring confidentiality and restricted access.

  • If there’s no mobile network signal, your Movolytics device continues to log data such as location, speed, and heading, and automatically uploads it once the connection is restored. This ensures accurate data capture without breaching any compliance requirements.

  • Yes - Movolytics self-install devices can be transferred between vehicles. Simply inform our support team to update the registration and driver details. Your historical data remains intact during the move. Hardwired devices can also be transferred; just contact us to arrange this.

  • No - there’s no limit on the number of users. You can grant access to as many team members as needed. Because the system is web-based, there’s no software to install or update locally. Each user should have their own login credentials to ensure data security and compliance with data protection laws.

  • Movolytics vehicle activity history and reports are stored securely for 12 months. After that period, data is automatically deleted in line with GDPR data minimisation principles. You can request specific data to be reactivated or made available for defined dates or vehicles within that 12-month period.

  • Yes - it’s important to inform your staff that vehicle tracking is in use. Under UK GDPR and employment law, employees must be made aware when monitoring takes place, what data is collected, and why it is used. Being transparent ensures compliance and builds trust within your workforce.
